-
What size are the straps?

-
Can I have any colour strap with my watch?
All models of watches are available with a selection of appropriate coloured matching straps. We sell additional coloured straps separately if you want to change the look of your watch to match your outfit. Available colours can be seen on the product pages.
-
What type of battery does the watch use and are they included?
The standard and waterproof watches all use battery type SR626SW and it comes fitted with the watch. The watch becomes operational when the small white plastic tab is removed and the crown is pushed back in after setting the correct time. We normally recommend taking our watches to a jeweller or watch repairer to replace the battery, as they have the correct tools for removing and re-fitting the watch back. If you want to try changing the battery yourself, the standard watch has a tiny notch on the edge of the case back where you can insert a small tool (e.g. a jeweller’s screwdriver) and prise the back off. Once you’ve changed the battery, you have to apply firm pressure to replace the watch back. There’s a plastic washer that goes round the whole circumference of the back and you need to make sure it stays in place. On the waterproof watch, the case back unscrews and you would need a special tool to do this. We recommend taking it to a watch repairer to change the battery.
-
Are the watches water resistant?
The Standard and Camo watches are water resistant so can withstand splashing but not total immersion in water. The watches should not be worn in the shower, bath or when swimming. The Waterproof watches are fully waterproof to 50m so these are the ideal choice for wearing on holiday or whilst swimming.

Waste disposal for end-of-life products
-
How do I dispose of my EasyRead clock or watch when it's no longer in use?
Please help us to minimise the effect we have on the environment by recycling your EasyRead Time Teacher watch, clock or alarm clock when it has come to the end of its life. Recycling your old electricals is easy! Recycle your electrical and electronic devices free at your local recycling centre. To find your nearest centre, visit the Recycle More or Recycle Now website and type in your postcode. Why recycle? Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK’s fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health. We’re proud to support your local authority in providing local recycling facilities for electrical equipment. To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with this symbol) in your bin. What is WEEE? The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items. How are we helping? In the UK, distributors including retailers must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. As a responsible retailer, we have met the requirements placed on us by financially supporting the national network of WEEE recycling centres established by local authorities. This is achieved through membership of the national Distributor Take-back scheme (DTS).
